Artwork-full of Energy & lightness and Reflective Poetry

Maureen's art work came from within herself - she did not copy a scene or anything - the inspiration would just come then she would just paint unaware of anything else happening around her - the paintings are full of energy' The Mandalas the circular ones are interesting because without trying to when she had finished one could quite often see Mary in the centre of the picture the circles drawing you into the centre. The Mandalas are a very good relaxing/meditative form of painting.

In recent years she was not able to paint a great deal and she did take on some commissions- there are a few of her pictures on display in the locality .

I shall try to pick out more of her work  depending upon what is still on the computer.

From Maureen:- " I see colour as such an important part of life- so much bound to light and the brightness it gives. It affects us in so many ways physically, psychologically and spiritually. The sun warms and comforts us, and gives us an uplifting that can brighten the day.

My paintings hope to offer this too,so that people can enter into the vibrancy and animation of the colour and light. They are simple and uncomplicated to offer  a sense of peace."

Most of my figurative paintings are of imaginary people. As always I love to use colour to inject into them a personality and aura full of lightness and brightness. They inhabit a beautiful colourful world and hopefully radiate this warmth. Perhaps for a moment they allow people to enter this simple setting, leading them into a happy, uplifting, story, and letting their imagination play upon this. A Life as it should be,-full of animation, joy and laughter.           Maureen.
