Extract from 'Simply and Fully Alive' Vol.2 -'The Food we Eat'

Some advice from Mary in relation to food and diet.

Mary explains the following as ; Several Categories of Food which constitute the whole content of a satisfactory diet. (If you select several items from each of these categories then you will be positive that you are eating well and wholesomely).

First Category of Food - The Protein Family.

Mary explains that we should think of this as a way of energising the body so that the nourishment can help to build the cells in the body, making them supple, strong, energetic- Also builds the connective tissue and makes the bones strong and firm.

(a)The Meat and Flesh category.

Mary explains that these are acceptable at present, because within God's Order He is allowing people to use animal foods if they realise that they are part of His whole cycle of Life which He's allowing to be used in this way. Meat, Fish, Fowl.

(b) Milk - A natural and wholesome source of protein when taken with starch foods is a very wholesome meal. It is easy to digest - complete in amino acids- and helps to build the body.

(c) The Egg. - A very beneficial  item because of itself it contains every enzyme and amino acid necessary to build the body. It is absolutely wholesome in that it contains a complete nutritious embryo.

(d) Legumes and Pulses- A plentiful protein source, which according to Mary can be grown quite easily with a little care. Includes, peas, beans, lentils- and les known legumes such as carob (John the Baptist survived very satisfactorily on carob and honey)

(e) Nuts and Seeds- Another invaluable source of protein. With starch make an enjoyable nutritious meal.

Second Category of Food - Fruit and Vegetables Family.

Mary explains that this is a very important part of the diet, supplying not only energy but a cleansing process. This can help to circulate the blood very freely, and allow the Lymph glands to function so that they eliminate poisons from the body. All sorts of fruits and vegetables are acceptable. They should be eaten in natural state, in variety. Best either very lightly cooked or raw.Mary explains that many are contaminated and lifeless today because of the use of artificial fertilizers and chemical insecticides. Try to select careully, where possible grow your own.Avoid heavly contaminated items. A simple way to remove impurities is to soak vegetables for a short time (15 min) in water which has boiled and has cooled (Ask God to link up with the energising process of the food to allow it to combine with His Energy - so that the combined energy, circulates within the digestive system in a very positive way.)

Third Category of Food - The Grain Family.

Mary explains that this is a very staple part of the diet which is most important. Bread we know is the staff of Life and bread figured so much in Jesus' own Life.Mary explains that it is very nourishing, very wholesome, very much an energy building food, which relates to the whole body in a very important way.

Several categories of grains - all are beneficial if used in wholesome state; the less refined any cerial or grain is, the better, because this is the state in which God allows it to grow. The more the goodness is removed, the less wholesome it is . According to Mary, today so much food is being ruined, because it is being interfered with;it is being processed, it is being added to, when really it is perfectly beautiful in its natural state.

Honey.- Has a special place on Mary's list. She explains that honey is one of the most beautiful products that God has offered. In itself it contains everything needed to ensure that the body is physiologically energised and allowed to function very smoothly, and it supplies the body with every vitamin, mineral and enzyme that is necessary for a wholesome physiological development.

These then are the very basic categories of food, and Mary would ask people not to be rigid about their eating habits, not to make a fetish of their eating habits, and not to think that , because food is there in such abundance one has to cram a great deal of it into each day's eating.

Of course, She says, use food in variety, but use it too moderately, and as you eat it,balance it well within the categories so that you are really putting some thought into the idea that food is valuable, God has provided it with Love in a very plentiful way for you to enjoy, and if you give it a little attention, then you are showing God that you do believe that He has provided you with something that is very  beautiful, very wholesome, and with a way that can let you with Him in this energising process. Because when you eat your food you simply should be understanding that God is allowing you to enter into this process of energising with Him; and if you do it in a conscious way,in a grateful way, in a positive way, so that you can put that energy to the best use possble, you are doing exactly what He wishes you to do.
